Pumpkin Patches Near Richmond, BC: 2026 Family Guide
Picking a pumpkin can be a quick stop at a local farm while running errands or a whole afternoon with wagon rides, mazes and something warm to drink.
I've explored some options for both while sticking close to Richmond, Ladner and South Vancouver.
To help you choose I’ve included the practical details: opening hours, admission, if your pumpkin costs extra, and what else there is for the kids to do. Some information came directly from the farms, and I’m updating details as they’re confirmed.
BEFORE YOU GO
Wear boots and clothes that can get muddy, and bring a change of shoes for the journey home. A spare outfit for younger kids can save you from a very muddy car seat.
Bring a sturdy bag for your pumpkins, especially if you’re taking transit or getting a lift. Bring some cash, just in case the farm you choose doesn’t accept cards.
If you’re visiting a farm that also sells produce, plan dinner around what’s in season. Choose a meal together before you go, pick up the ingredients at the farm and cook together when you get home. Let the kids help choose the vegetables, wash them or stir the pot.
Leave a little time for choosing. You might be happy with the first pumpkin you see, but your child may need to inspect seventeen pumpkins and twelve mud piles before making a decision.
Check the farm’s latest updates before setting off, especially if the weather looks questionable or you’re going for a particular activity.
Taking photos at the pumpkin patch
You don’t need to turn the outing into a photo session. Some of my favourite photographs happen while kids are busy choosing, carrying and investigating pumpkins.
Get down to their height and let them explore. Ask them to find the smallest pumpkin, compare funny shapes or show you which one they want to take home. The serious business of choosing a pumpkin... or two... often gives you more to photograph than asking them to stand still and smile.
Embrace the mud and the laughs that come from being allowed to get so dirty. Look for the little details too: muddy boots, small hands around a stem, an earnest attempt to lift a pumpkin that’s far too big. Take a wider photograph to show the field, then move closer for their expressions and those smaller moments.
On a bright day, try putting the sun behind them so they aren’t squinting into it. Tap their face on your phone screen to set the focus. If they’re moving, take a few photographs in quick succession.
Get someone to take a photograph with you in it as well. It doesn’t need to be perfectly posed. Walking together, helping carry a pumpkin or having a muddy cuddle all count.
Then put the phone away for a bit. Picking the pumpkin is part of the memory too.
Richmond
Richmond Country Farms | Richmond, BC
Richmond Country Farms brings together the wagon ride, corn maze and pumpkin picking in one visit.
Admission includes one pumpkin of any size, a wagon ride to and from the patch, a Spartan apple and access to the corn maze. There are photo spots, animatronic dinosaurs and the remaining flower fields to explore. Train rides and live music are also listed for weekends.
Parking can get busy. I’d aim for a weekday visit or arrive around opening on weekends and holidays. Public transit or a taxi or rideshare drop-off at the main entrance are other options if you’d rather skip parking. Bring a sturdy bag to carry your pumpkins home.

FINN AND 4 ROAD PUMPKIN PATCH | Richmond, BC
I found this pumpkin field while out road biking with my husband after I first moved to Steveston. It’s off the beaten path, the sort of place you need to know about to find.
We first went as a family with our teenagers. Pumpkins were picked, boots got muddy, and we carved them at the table over newspaper. We even roasted the seeds.
This is a muddy field with pumpkins still attached to their vines, so expect the real deal. Wear boots and come prepared to get dirty.
The parking lot stays the same, but the fields alternate each year. The friendly farmer brings his truck and prices pumpkins by sight. It’s a relaxed sort of set-up. In my experience, the prices don’t break the bank, and he’s often tucked a little pumpkin into our haul as a bonus.
Opening: The pumpkins are growing in the field, but it wasn’t open for picking when I visited on October 4. Opening hours aren’t posted.
Location: Just around the bend near Finn Road and No. 4 Road, Richmond.
Address: Just around the bend at Finn and 4 Road.
Payment: Bring cash.
